Affiliate programs are one of the most reliable ways to make real money on the internet. As with everything else in life, there are also certain affiliate programs that have been proven to be scams. Here is a list below of some very important steps to look for when determining if an affiliate program is legitimate or not.

1- If it sounds to good to be true, then yes, it most liely is to good to be true. This one of the most important statements ever made.

2- Always, always read the fine print such as the terms of service and the terms and conditions and make sure that there are no hidden agendas and so that you have a full understanding of everything about the affiliate program.

3- Always make sure that the affiliate program shows you exactly how much you will make and when and how you will receive your money. Make sure that the affiliate program gives you a full understanding of the payment structure. Make sure that you do understand exactly how you will be getting paid before you commit to any affiliate programs.

4- Always, always, research the affiliate programs. Who they are. Where they are, how long they have been online and have they paid their members in past. Make sure that the affiliate program has direct contact information. If you cannot find the affiliate programs contact information, do not join.

Lastly, check and see if the affiliate programs are listed with the better internet beureu. They do not have to be listed to be legitimate but most legitimate affiliate programs are listed with either the better internet beureu or the better business beureu.

TIP- as I stated above, the affiliate program does not have to be listed with the beureus but most of the legitimate affiliate programs are listed with them. So, always check to see if they are listed on either the better internet beureu or the better business beureu but do not let it prevent you from joining if they are not listed. If they are not listed, look at the other factors listed above to determine if the affiliate program is a scam or not.

I define a internet affiliate program scam as any affiliate program that does not do what they say they will do and any affiliate program that promises to pay a certain amount and then does not pay that amount. If the affiliate program does not meet their own terms and conditions on pay outs and payment structure, then it is a scam.

THE AFFILIATE SCAM REVIEW.

The first online scam is known as the nigerian scam. The new Nigerian Scam puts it's aim at the Internet Marketer's website and blog owners. They want to do a deal with you. The deal goes like this. They will approach a webmaster and or blog owner with a proposal of buying space on their website. The webmaster, unbeknown that this is a scam, bites because the deal-I mean the money, is just to high to turn away.
The scammer sends the money...and the amount of the check is even higher than what was agreed upon. The scammer sends an email and states that they had inadvertently sent a check that was above the amount requested, and requests that the webmaster please send the difference back. The webmaster, thinking it is a legitimate mistake, sends the overcharged amount to the scammer. The webmaster is out the money, and the scammer is much richer. Once you cash the check, you are responsible for the full amount. The ways to stay away from the nigerian programs and other scam programs like the nigerian programs are as follows.

1-Check to see if they have a blog or website.

2-Has the website been around for 6 months or more.

3-Wait till the check clears.

4-Request payment through Paypal-This will kill the deal immediately.

5- Immdeiately report the scammer and remember if it seems to good to be true then it most likely is to good to be true.
